Standard eligibility is 23–70 with a full licence held continuously for at least two years. Premium, luxury, sports and executive vehicles normally require drivers aged 25+ with at least three years’ experience.

Every driver is reviewed before a vehicle is released. The exact criteria depend on the car and its insurer.
Licence record
Up to six penalty points may be considered under the standard policy. Performance and executive vehicles normally require 0–3 points. Major or recent convictions require individual review and may fall outside insurer criteria.
Identity & address
Before handover, every driver provides a valid photocard licence, passport or national identity document, and proof of address dated within the previous 90 days.
Insurance approval
Eligibility is assessed against the selected vehicle, rental details and the applicable self-drive-hire insurance terms. Meeting the headline criteria does not guarantee approval.

- Front and back of your full licence
- DVLA check code for GB licences
- Foreign licence and IDP where required
Identity
- Valid passport or national ID
- Proof of address within 90 days
- Details must match the booking

Individual review
Outside the standard profile?
Drivers aged 18–22, 71–75, licence holders with 12–23 months’ experience, and other non-standard cases may be considered with explicit insurer approval. A review may involve a higher deposit, mileage limit, restricted vehicle choice or additional evidence. Approval is never guaranteed.
If declined, you may request a written management review. Supporting evidence and insurer feedback will be considered, normally within 14 calendar days.
